SAN JACINTO TITLE COMPANY
TRANSFORMS INTO AFRICA

The Title Company’s 1940s building was the natural inspiration for a Hemingway-style safari. Michael Lee decided to paint the bathroom to look like a masculine African tent. Everything in the room tells a story of some part of the journey. From the mischievous monkeys to the detailed map of the journey.

THE ARTIST:
MICHAEL LEE SCOTT

Michael Lee Scott admits he does not even completly understand how he does what he does. His trompe l’oeil paintings emerge from some place inside of him — he does not use references materials. The details are conjured out of thin air. In a few days, Michael Lee can transform a plain beige room into a stable complete with hounds or a magical African Safari Tent.
