Retail: Bathroom
Michael Lee Scott transformed this completely raw powder room into a theatrical event. The flowing curtains above the sink and commode give a dramatic depth to this once dreadfully unfinished space as they cascade down creating a soft elegance reminiscent of a bygone era.
Michael Lee’s special talent gifts him with the ability to create folds in fabric that doesn’t actually exist. When he “dresses” a room, he does it much like one would use actual materials, layering, adding, lighting, and creating an environment of warmth and luxury. The beauty of his work is especially noted in his attention to detail such as the “carved” trim above this doorway.
It‘s hard to tell what is real and what is not in this “tented” powder room. While the window is there, we start to question how Michael Lee actually accomplishes his spectacular effects.
The shelves and objects on them are so true to life that guests may actually be fooled. Light and shadows give this wall a truly three-dimensional feel. These shelves will never need dusting — as real as they are.
This memento board is so lifelike that guests may try to read the mail. Michael Lee actually sees and creates depth in every detail. Imagine what you will be able to do when you work with Michael Lee. He can take details of your life and incorporate them into any environment, “building” a space that is uniquely yours.
