Residential: Fireplace/Interior Design
When asked to give this fireplace more focus, Michael Lee took his lead from a large antique China Cabinet heirloom that was already in the space. The effect is almost unbelievable. Like Las Vegas itself this piece is a fantasy come to life.
A plain white fireplace provides a clean canvas for Michael Lee to perform his magic. The carved China Cabinet that already existed in the space inspired him to “carve” this piece, transforming it into a rich work of art that serves as the focal point of the room yet brings a much more cohesive feel with the other pieces.
Michael Lee transforms this plain fireplace into a 3D experience. The choice of color and the detail to the “carved” texture makes this piece a truly unique experience. Inspired by an antique heirloom that already existed in the space, Michael Lee loved the images carved into the wood and incorporated them into this piece, giving the room a much more cohesive feel.
The fireplace was designed to match the scrollwork and decoration on this weighty wooden bookcase.
